Hamilton City Council

Tēnā Tātou Katoa,

Parking is a field that I happened across in 2011 and have been involved with for 14 years here at Hamilton City Council.

I have seen both sides of the activity starting off in the field as a Parking Officer for 5 years, progressed to the Parking Compliance Supervisor in 2016 and just recently moving into the Parking Team Leaders role from April 2025.

As the 4th biggest city in New Zealand, I joined the NZPA to represent Hamilton City Council and continue our relationship with the association, be of service to our committee members, and other councils.

We have a good mix of Local Government and Private entity experts on the committee, all advocating and networking for the betterment of the parking industry and parking management.

Within my role for Hamilton City Council, I am obligated to

  • Prioritise staff welfare, ensuring a safe work environment
  • Deliver on our cities parking strategy
  • Manage parking education and compliance
  • Provide parking data they will drive our Access Hamilton initiatives

The NZPA is a knowledge hub, allowing industry connections to tap into best practice advice, parking tech advancements, workshops, and people/organisation networking.

With this committee we could advocate for changes as well as look at solutions for the betterment of our industry.
