Craig Covich holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering and Science. He started his career as a Geophysicist undertaking seismic studies and analysing large sets of data. This experience served him well when he transitioned into Local Government and into traffic and parking. Craig now leads the Environment and Planning Section of Mosman Council that encompasses all things engineering, planning and compliance. He holds a Masters in Administrative Law and Policy and has also attended the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. He has an active interest in Parking and data, recently being responsible for the large scale installation of “Smart Parking” Technology in Mosman.
Craig’s presentation will detail Mosman Council’s journey of installing “Smart Parking” technology in its major business district. He will discuss the process of convincing the Council and the community that parking technology was something to embrace. He will detail the installation process and learnings along the way, as well as now 12 months on, what benefits have arisen and what is the data suggesting about the behaviours of over stayers.
